Species Alert Report

About This Report

This tool generates a species alert report which identifies priority and protected species occurrences within your specified area. It using species occurrence data and authoritative species lists from the NBN Atlas.

Note: This is a prototype and to minimize computational load on the NBN Atlas, queries are restricted to single polygon geometries and only a few authoritative species lists are included. Additional species lists could easily be added.

Whats coming next:

Adding support for importing a layer (eg SSI's), selecting a region (eg Abberton Reservoir) and generating a report for that region. Here are some developer notes for that .

Define Your Area of Interest

You can define your area using either the interactive map below or by entering a WKT (Well-Known Text) polygon string directly.

WKT Polygon String: Enter a single POLYGON in WKT format. The polygon must be closed (first and last coordinates identical).

Buffer Distance (meters): Optional: Add a buffer zone around your polygon in meters. This expands the search area for species records.

Prototype Limitation: Currently restricted to these core lists to optimize performance. Additional species lists can be easily integrated as the system develops.
