About this tool

This tool validates and checks plausibility of species occurrence records from the NBN Atlas using the BRC Record Cleaner Service.

What it does:

Validation: Checks record format, dates, spatial references, and taxon names
Rules based checking: Tests records against biological rules (distribution, phenology, period)
Export: Generates a CSV with original data plus validation/rules check results

Note: This is a demo and as such, we limit the numbers of records sent to the BRC Record Cleaner Service to 100.

Rules based checking

Distribution (is species known in this area?)
Phenology (is date within flight/active period?)
Period rules (extinction/first recording dates)
Identification difficulty scoring
All Record Cleaner rules are applied.

Currently limited to 200 records for demo purposes
Only records that pass validation will be rules checked
